About Jordyn, AT
Jordyn Defalco is a Certified Athletic Trainer who works with patients and athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, functional movement, and return-to-sport training in New York City.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Sacred Heart University and later earned a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Montclair State University. Her graduate education has helped shape her approach to rehabilitation, combining movement, exercise, injury prevention, and progressive training to help patients return to the activities they enjoy. Montclair State's 2026 commencement records list Jordyn Defalco among the graduates of its Athletic Training master's program.
Jordyn also brings firsthand experience as a collegiate athlete. She competed on Sacred Heart University's Division I equestrian team, beginning her college career as a first-year member of the program and continuing through her senior season. Sacred Heart's records list her hometown as Secaucus, New Jersey.
Athletic Background
Jordyn's background as a competitive equestrian gives her a personal understanding of the physical demands athletes face when training, competing, and returning from injury.
During her time with Sacred Heart's equestrian program, she competed in multiple disciplines and recorded individual results. In October 2019, she placed third in Cross-rails during Sacred Heart's home opener.
Her collegiate career continued to include competitive success. During the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, Sacred Heart listed her among its equestrian athletes competing in Limit Fences and Limit Flat, and she qualified for postseason regional competition.
In March 2023, Jordyn placed first in Intermediate Flat, Section B, at the Zone I Region V Championship as Sacred Heart's equestrian team advanced to championship competition.
That athletic background complements her clinical work, particularly when helping active patients understand movement, build strength, and work toward a safe return to sport.

What patients sayResearch and Evidence-Based Rehabilitation
Jordyn's graduate work also includes an academic research focus on knee injury rehabilitation and aquatic therapy.
In 2025, she presented a research project at Montclair State University's Student Research Symposium titled “The Effectiveness of Aquatic Therapy on Knee Injuries.” The project reviewed research on aquatic rehabilitation for knee injuries, including its potential effects on pain, swelling, physical function, range of motion, and walking ability.
Her review examined peer-reviewed research published between 2010 and 2025 and explored how properties of water, including buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, and viscosity, may make aquatic exercise useful during knee rehabilitation. The research also considered how improvements in function can support progression toward more demanding activities, including plyometric training.
This research experience adds another dimension to Jordyn's clinical background: she has experience evaluating rehabilitation approaches through the lens of published evidence, not just practical training.
Training Philosophy
Jordyn believes rehabilitation should be challenging without losing sight of the person behind the injury.
She works to make exercise purposeful and engaging while adjusting each program to the patient's current abilities, goals, and stage of recovery. She recognizes that progress is different for everyone. A successful outcome might be getting through a workday comfortably, walking around New York City without symptoms, returning to a favorite workout class, or competing again after an injury.
Her goal is to help patients build the strength, movement confidence, and physical capacity they need to keep progressing beyond the clinic.
A Creative Approach to Exercise
Known around the clinic as the “Pilates queen,” Jordyn brings energy and creativity to her sessions. She enjoys finding new ways to make exercise challenging while keeping patients engaged.
Rather than relying on the same exercises for everyone, she looks for ways to adapt movement and training to the individual's needs. This can make rehabilitation feel less repetitive while still keeping the focus on measurable progress.
Working With Athletes
Jordyn's combination of athletic experience, graduate-level athletic training education, and rehabilitation research is particularly relevant for active patients and athletes.
She understands that returning to sport involves more than simply getting out of pain. Athletes often need to rebuild strength, movement control, endurance, confidence, and tolerance for sport-specific demands before returning to full participation.
Her approach can be especially valuable for high school and collegiate athletes, recreational athletes, runners, and active adults who want to return to exercise safely and confidently.
Outside the Clinic
Outside of clinical work, Jordyn enjoys trying new workout classes and finding creative ways to keep movement interesting. Her interest in different forms of exercise carries into her treatment approach, where she looks for practical and enjoyable ways to help patients stay active.
Whether someone is recovering from an injury, improving their strength, or working toward a return to sport, Jordyn brings an energetic and individualized approach to every session.
